Dare to Blog

7/12/2015

Ok, this post took some serious self coaxing and self motivation for the last few months...... So bear with me please as we get into my battling thoughts as far as my "blogging" goes...

Thought # 1: I am not consistent enough, when it comes to writing and posting, to be a "blogger".
Realization: I do enjoy writing, and I do enjoy sharing my work with you... so why not blog? Are there really seriously "rules" and "rights" or "wrongs" when it comes to blogging, how often, when, about what, with whom...? I figured that blogging is not just for the readers, it is also for the writer to express themselves in a patterned way. After much careful thought and some preparation, here I am writing my first "blog"!

Thought # 2: I am not talented enough to be blogging my photos.
Realization: I should not care what other people may think or dare to say, because I am so proud to see where I started verses where I am now, and all of the success I have made. I also know that my work is always going to improve and grow... so why hide most of it, as if it never happens?!

Thought # 3: I can't keep my personal life out of my work blog so why try to create a "work" blog?
Realization: Who says my personal blog can't be joined with my work blog?   Let's do this!

Even if the only other person that will ever read my posts is my, too kind to say otherwise, fiancé... it does not matter, because I am being able to finally teach myself to put myself out there. I am finally taking the time to post detailed and thoughtful words with my photos for my clients. I am finally writing out my thoughts, instead of keeping them in my mind and losing track of them.
So although I may not be blogging every other day, or every week, or even every other week, I will be pushing myself and working myself to become a better, well rounded wedding photographer and business woman.

My next Post will contain photos of one of the weddings I had the privilege of being a part of last month! Stay tuned for that!

Thank you to those of you who were kind enough to read into my post! I appreciate it, and I hope to hear back from anyone who can relate or offer some tips for me! Let's connect and begin loving this beautiful gift we have of sharing our work and our experiences with the world at the click of a button.... pun intended (;

Your new Blogger,
-Karissa
